Solid wood floors are renowned for their classical elegance and charm and are an excellent choice for creating warmth in a home. Durable and easy to maintain, solid wood floors increase a home’s comfort, while wood's hypoallergenic properties contribute to good health. In addition to embellishing your home, investing in an authentic solid wood floor, which will last for generations, can increase its resale value.

Our custom flooring is available for finishing on-site or pre-finished in a selection of wood species. Varnish finish is available with a sheen of 10, 40, 60 or 90 degrees. We can produce planks in widths from 2-8 inches and lengths up to 7 feet.

When choosing the width of flooring planks, it is important to understand that wider planks run a greater risk of shrinkage, creating gaps between individual planks during colder seasons. If you prefer wide planks, we recommend installing a mix of three widths, alternating rows of 3", 5", and 7" boards, to minimize this seasonal phenomenon.

Flooring Styles
We manufacture three styles of flooring.

Select
The flooring planks include all of the natural colours found in the chosen wood species, minus large knots, cracks or stains. It is possible to request a special selection of planks with uniform colouration.

Rustic
While knots and small cracks in the floor, may not be aesthetically desirable by some, when a careful selection is made, these elements reveal the true nature of solid wood. During manufacturing of our rustic flooring, we fill selected knots and cracks in order to enhance the beauty of the wood species.

Shop Grade
Inevitably, during floor manufacturing, some boards will be rejected due to their non-conformity. Whether stained, knotty or cracked, the structural integrity and machining precision of these planks are intact. Customers have found this flooring product to be well-suited for their workshop, cottage, country house, or areas that are subjected to heavy traffic.

Molding
The role of molding in a house is to hide the openings and cracks left where walls, floors, windows and siding meet. Too often the aesthetic and design potential of molding is overlooked. Solid wood molding has many advantages over molding constructed from wood fibres, such as medium-density fibreboard (MDF). Wood has much greater resistance to shock and does not release chemicals that may affect your health. Solid wood molding can also be painted or varnished.

SIDING and Panelling
Wood siding and panelling have been used since the early settlers arrived in Canada. With proper maintenance, the expected life span can exceed 100 years. One of the advantages of wood siding and panelling is the adaptability to current trends by simply changing the colour.
Bizier offers various models and wood species, in rough or smooth finish, to suit the style of your home.
It is important to be aware of the resin exudation that can occur with pine products in the first few years following installation. This potential problem can, however, be greatly reduced by proper drying of the pine before installation.

Tongue & Groove decking
Interlocking tongue and groove joinery allows boards to fit together in a tight and seamless connection to form a flat surface. Solid wood tongue and groove decking, used for centuries in the construction of traditional log or post and beam homes, has many applications.
In traditional solid wood construction, tongue and groove planks can serve as ceiling and floor between the ground and second floors. Our decking, made from planks, is bevelled on the underside with square ridges on the top side of the boards. Generally installed on the first or second stories, it gives the impression when looking up at the ceiling from the ground floor that the ceiling is covered with panelling. From the second floor looking down, one sees tongue and groove flooring.
We offer this product in pine in sizes 2" x 6" and 2" x 8", as well as in hardwood in custom sizes. Contact us for details and pricing.
